My name is Kalil Bhojani. I am a grade 11 student in the Regional Scitech and Regional Strings programs at Port Credit Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario. I am part of the IT/OPS team for this year’s IlluminaTED conference.
I have always had the opinion that knowledge not shared is wasted. When I was younger I remember learning a lot from TED Talks that I watched in class. I believe that we all acquire residual knowledge from experiences over the course of our lives, and that we should try and share this knowledge to help other people improve their lives.
In the Encounters TED-Ed program, I aspire to share the knowledge and experiences that I have gained in my life so far. My aim in the club is to share an idea on how we can all make the world a better place. I think that all the world’s global issues are intertwined and that only by combining all of our unique perspectives can we really solve these issues. I aspire to, through my talk, improve the relations and understanding between different people who have unique, and sometimes divergent perspectives.
I also believe that TED-Ed will help me improve my public speaking, conference planning & leadership skills. Improving my skills facilitates my growth and development. I think that the IlluminaTED conference will be a great place for people to share ideas worth spreading and interact with one another. I believe that only through sharing our unique perspectives and creative ideas can we help make change in this world for the better and I look forward to being a part of this year’s conference.
